Fireplace Insulation
Insulating around a fireplace can be quite the task, and it should always be taken seriously as the fireplace insulation is the only thing protecting your house from the potential dangers of a fireplace. That is not to say that you should avoid getting a fireplace because of this, but you should always be aware of the fireplace insulation that is in your household.
There are several different kinds of fireplace insulation that can be used. Most commonly you will find fireplace high temperature rope insulation, followed by 1 x 1/8 insulation fiberglass seals for fireplaces. These are used to keep the fireplace from overheating and coming in contact with the flammable products used in the construction of your house, and the seals will keep the insulation in place. Fireplace mantel insulation and fireplace screen insulation should also be taken into account. Insulating a fireplace mantel is important because heat naturally rises up to where your mantel is located. Lastly, there is the installation of fireplace flue insulation to be considered. Insulating around fireplaces should always be done by a professional that knows how to best protect your house.
Along with the different parts of fireplaces that need to be insulated, there are different types of insulation for different kinds of fireplaces. For instance, gas fireplace insulation is different than the insulation of wood burning fireplaces because it involves more complex pieces. When it comes to insulation, natural gas or logs, fireplace setups are not something to be tampered with if you have little or no experience. Messing with fireplace insulation can be putting your entire house at risk.
Insulating a fireplace is very important, but that doesn’t mean it has to be expensive. Insulating fireplace pieces is a rather tedious job, so hiring someone else to do it for you is advisable. Plus, you can appreciate your fireplace and all of the fireplace insulation afterwards without having to deal with the headaches that it more than likely created while it was being installed. Just make sure that when you hire someone to do the job, they really know what they are doing, because insulation is essential to keeping your home and family safe, and you wouldn’t want to hire someone that has never done the job before. It is highly advisable that you do some research ahead of time to determine who will be able to do the best job for you, and so you can get an idea of how much the whole project will cost you if you can’t complete all of the work on your own.
